The Illusion of Two Types

There are two kinds of people in this world: Those who believe there are two kinds of people in this world and those who are smart enough to know better.

Some folks like to sort the world into neat little boxes:

“Good vs. bad.”

“Smart vs. dumb.”

“Winners vs. losers.”

But the truth?

People aren’t buttons you press or files you label. They’re novels with scribbled margins. They’re storms and sunrises, not categories.

The person who’s quiet at a party might be the one who texts you at 2AM when you’re falling apart.

The loudest one in the room might be hiding the most. People defy their labels—constantly.

The irony of this quote is the best part:

“Only simple people think in black-and-white. Smarter people see the grey.”
